For 18 months I was in a program of Community Development and Tuberculosis Control in a tiny town on the Haitian border-about as far from the capitol of Santo Domingo as you could get. I had
brought some Nikon equipment with me and began shooting for the Peace Corps magazine in Washington, D.C. I began to get a lot of pictures published and was asked to move to Santo Domingo
and shoot photo essays for recruiting and advertising for the Peace Corps use in the US. A collection of the photographs I had done in the Haitian border area was exhibited in Santo Domingo, the
National Press Club in Washington, D.C., The Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and several Peace Corps training centers.
